‘EVERY BODY CONTINUES TO BE IN A STATE OF REST OR CONSTANT MOTION, UNLESS ACTED UPON BY AN INTERNAL FORCE’

It is no secret that the food landscape is in a crisis with depleting water, climate change, fragmenting land holdings, genetically modified foods and large scale migrations. This crisis is not going away and the answers are not coming from anywhere outside. It is time for us to collaborate in the face of this crisis.

India Foundation for Humanistic Development(IFHD) came into being as a response to this situation. It creates Catalytic Platforms. Platforms that bring together different resources and stakeholders like FPOs, Technical experts, Funders etc. to enable transformation on the ground.

Vision

To rejuvenate productive landscapes equitably and sustainably.

OUR CATALYTIC PLATFORMS

ESCAPE VELOCITY {noun}

- The minimum velocity required to ‘break free’ from its limitations and move to a new space.

img

Producer Entrepreneurship Catalyst and Incubation Facility (ProCIF) - A catalytic platform for FPOs

ProCIF helps FPOs gain the escape velocity to shift from the orbit of farmer collectives to that of a self-sustaining business enterprise capable of accessing mainstream financial instruments. It conducts rigorous assessment of an FPO’s maturity, identifies critical need gaps, gives access to a platform of funders and technical consultants who can fill these gaps effectively.

ProCIF encourages the focus on sustainable production and consumption, assisting MSME’s to use sustainable technologies in the entire value chain. In addition to ecological dimensions, it works with MSME’s to establish fair trade standards that ensure sustainability for all actors in the supply chain.

ENERGY CAN BE CREATED, DESTROYED AND TRANSFORMED FROM ONE FORM TO ANOTHER

Leaders for Nature (A Catalytic Platform for Businesses)

We believe that the force that can be used to make profits can also help make the world more sustainable. It just needs forus to transform our energy in a more constructive and strategic manner.

Leaders for Nature(LfN) India is IUCN India’s business engagement network that stimulates and facilitates companies to take the lead in the transition towards a sustainable green Indian economy, by incorporating natural capital in their core business.

LfN India’s focus is clearly on nature/biodiversity and livelihood, wherein IFHD support focuses on the interface between nature and social capital. IFHD’s role is also to provide technical assistance and field support where necessary in the domains of environmental and social development, provide access to its civil society network, share expertise and facilitate inputs from experts on livelihood and bio-diversity, and undertake pilots on business and bio-diversity.
